The Housing Trust has been awarded $300,000 from the Holt Foundation to run the Rockingham Rental Rehabilitation Program. This three-year program is designed to help Rockingham property owners improve the quality of their rental homes by providing dry, well-ventilated, lead-safe, well-maintained, and safe apartments thereby improving the health and wellbeing of the residents who rent from them.
The program will create a suite of accessible services which complement and integrate with the Housing Trust’s Green Mountain Home Repair Program. Beginning with small-scale grants, the program will target emergency renovations to kick-off the initiative with support increasing throughout the duration of the program. Expert guidance from our Home Repair Specialist team will guide property owners step-by-step through the process through construction.
The importance of a safe home has never been more apparent. The Rockingham Rental Rehab Program will address the physical conditions within apartment homes and support property owners in maintaining affordable rents to the residents of Bellows Falls village and the greater Rockingham Town. In addition, the program will improve the conditions in neighborhoods by working with buildings with significant deferred maintenance and provide services that property owners need to improve the health, safety and curb appeal of their buildings.
