We’re thrilled to welcome another member to our Resident Supportive Services team! Polly Morris joined us at the beginning of January and has jumped in with two feet, becoming a new familiar face on the properties.
Polly (she/her) is a Community professional with 12+ years in human services field advocating for people in need of mental health, addiction & recovery support services access. Polly has been in long-term Recovery since 2007, She has worked in Prevention, Intervention, Treatment and Recovery and is passionate about engaging community in these efforts. Polly is a certified prevention specialist and a recovery coach as well as community trainer and facilitator.
She intends to work collaboratively with WWHT property residents to build trust and respect in their community by getting to know their neighbors. She is enthusiastic to organize outreach strategies with “nothing about us without us” intention- each property has their own dynamics; the residents will determine the strategies and the outcomes.
Polly has been introducing herself to folks on the properties and establishing relationships. She’s also been setting up fun ways for residents to give feedback on community and wellbeing and even gardening! In February, she has set up a Community Connections series on Tuesday evenings at Algiers for residents to gather safely, share, and learn about self-care in a peer setting.
Welcome, Polly!
