The Wednesday leading up to Valentines day, the SASH For All team hosted a DIY Valentines crafting event in the Daly Shoe community room. With supplies and support provided by Nancy Detra, the community room soon filled with kids coming off the bus, ready to craft and enjoy snacks.
“People were really excited about it” shares Barbara, SASH For All Wellness Nurse, “Families always have to make a huge amount of valentines so offering this space really helps.”
While the kids created, the parents were able to connect with SASH For All Coordinator and Nurse, talk about what support they might like and simply make the connection.
“It’s great to bring folks in with events like this.” Comments Katy, SASH For All Coordinator, “Connecting one-on-one in a fun and really safe environment helps build relationships- between neighbors and staff. We were able to sign up a family into the SASH For All program because of this one event. That’s big step.”
