The belts for the elevator at the Snow Block need to be replaced and the parts were ordered and on hand within a few days of the malfunction being reported in June.  The delay is due to the belts needing to be custom made by the company that installed the elevator and there is a backlog at their business to completing this. We were told that it would be several weeks for the new belts to be completed.  Resident with mobility issues were offered a ground level hotel room during the time that the elevator was not functioning, but declined the offer.  We’ve been collecting trash at people’s doors weekly, calling each resident weekly to check in, and our SASH Coordinator and Nurse are checking in with residents regularly.  It’s been understandably frustrating for everyone and we’ve stepped up our pressure on the company to prioritize this work as it’s been longer than we anticipated.
