We’re pleased to welcome a whole new team on board at Windham & Windsor Housing Trust! Joyce St. Jean, Resident Services Manager and Garry Card, Housing Services Coordinator join us as the new Supportive Services team. We look forward to offering this level of support to our residents. Following the isolation of covid and traumatic toll we have all endured over the past year and a half, we see the necessity of intentionally building community, creating connections between people and supports, holding space for the challenges, and celebrating wins big and small.
Joyce will be managing the program, coordinating with partner organizations on supports, and strategically leading the initiative forward. Garry will be on the ground, working with individuals, families, and neighborhoods, serving as the connection between home and resources while also engaging with community building.
A little more about Joyce and Garry (they’re smiling under those masks!):
Joyce’s life work has been helping improve the quality of people’s lives: from working with people who have multiple barriers to employment create opportunities to become economically self-sufficient, to owning and operating a general store that was a vital hub of community connection for people in rural Vermont. Joyce is an effective leader and program manager. She holds a Bachelor of Arts and Business Management degree from Union Institute and University at Vermont College and a Master’s Degree Certification in Nonprofit Management from Marlboro College Graduate School. She is trained in Trauma Informed Care Techniques and the effects of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). Joyce is an avid hiker and enjoys being active in nature.
Garry started his career working as a direct support provider for adult and children with developmental disabilities in the Cheshire County, NH Area. He was then brought on by Monadnock Developmental Services as their Children’s In-Home Support Coordinator. While there, he worked with families to develop specialized support programs to meet their needs, connected families to local resources, and empowered families to be their own advocates. Later he joined the Monadnock Collaborative as a Care Transition Coordinator, helping them pilot a new non-profit program for the Cheshire County Area. The program helped support people transitioning back into the community connect to local services. Now, he’s happy to be joining the Windham and Windsor Housing Trust Team!
